Best email verification tools, compared

Six email verification services, compared on what they charge and what they include. Prices are read from each vendor's own pricing page (6 November 2026).

Disclosure: we make MailSure, one of the six. So the picks below only credit MailSure where the published numbers show it, and every other service gets its own honest "where it is the better choice" page.

The six services in short

MailSure

A focused verifier: single check, CSV upload, REST API, WordPress plugin and an MCP server for AI assistants. 100 free verifications a month, packs that never expire, unknown results never billed. It does not include inbox-placement or monitoring tools.

ZeroBounce

Choose ZeroBounce if you want email verification bundled with deliverability monitoring and warm-up tools in one subscription. Never expire with a ZeroBounce ONE subscription; otherwise “expiration rules may apply”. Unknown results are free.

NeverBounce

Choose NeverBounce if you need deep CRM and marketing-platform integrations and an enterprise contract. Credits expire 12 months after purchase. Not stated on the pricing page.

Bouncer

Choose Bouncer if you also want Bouncer’s deliverability toolkit alongside verification. Credits never expire. Unknown results and duplicates are never charged.

MillionVerifier

Choose MillionVerifier if you verify around 500,000 emails or more at once, where MillionVerifier’s listed $299 for 500,000 is below our $320. Credits never expire. A refund policy for risky emails.

Emailable

Choose Emailable if you want a larger free allowance at sign-up and the inbox reporting tools. Credits never expire. Credits spent on unknown results and duplicates are returned.

How to choose

  1. Work out your volume. Under 10,000 addresses a month, one-off packs beat subscriptions; the price gap between vendors grows quickly with volume.
  2. Check what happens to unknown results. Some addresses cannot be confirmed either way. Being billed for them raises your real cost per usable result.
  3. Check expiry. Credits that expire in 12 months are wasted if your list work is occasional.
  4. Decide whether you need the extras. Inbox-placement tests and monitoring are worth paying for if you use them, and a distraction if you only need to clean a list.
  5. Try before you buy. Run a few hundred real addresses through the free allowance and compare what comes back.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best email verification service?
It depends on what you need. For the lowest price per verification on one-off lists, MailSure is the cheapest of the six on the published prices. For bundled deliverability tools, ZeroBounce. For deep CRM integrations, NeverBounce. For very large lists, MillionVerifier. The table and picks above show the reasoning.
Is there a free email verification tool?
Yes. MailSure gives 100 free verifications every month with no card, and its free checker, MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC tools need no account at all. ZeroBounce also offers 100 a month; Emailable gives 250 credits at sign-up.
How accurate are email verifiers?
No vendor can be 100% accurate, because some mail servers (large providers, catch-all domains) will not confirm whether a mailbox exists. Good services return an honest "unknown" for those instead of guessing. Check whether you are billed for unknown results: MailSure, Bouncer and ZeroBounce do not bill them, and Emailable returns the credits.
Do I need a subscription to verify emails?
No. All six sell one-off credit packs. Subscriptions help if you verify every month; for occasional list cleaning, packs are usually cheaper.
How were these prices checked?
Each figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page in a real browser on 6 November 2026 and is listed with its source on the pricing comparison page. Vendors change prices, so check before you buy.
